2015: You & The Fools - Web TV Series
6 part webseries produced for Silvretta Montafon and Epic TV
World-class German skiers Jochen Mesle, Flo Preuss and Max Kroneck meet up with Kiwis, Neil Williman and Pete Oswald and Austrian Sven Rauber a to showcase their best lines from the 2015 winter season directly from the Silvretta Montafon region of the Austrian Alps. This crew covers all aspects of freeskiing from Big Mountain to Park and will be the first in the lift line when conditions are great. Hop on board and enjoy your time with the fools.
It´s the end of December 2014 and a crew of freeskiers comes together in Silvretta Montafon to kick things off. The first big snowfall of the season hits the mountains just in time and the boys are happy to go really deep the following days. Not only is the powder deep, it´s really dry and light, a rare treat in the Alps. Faceshots guaranteed! After that the skies open up for a killer bluebird day to start 2015. Jochen Mesle and and Sven Rauber send natural hits all day long, while Pete Oswald and and Neil Williman hike a really steep couloir and ski it as the sun goes down. The Fools can´t wait to come back in February for round II...
It´s time to head back to Austria's Silvretta Montafon for another adventure with the Fools. Unfortunately most of the boys are traveling the world skiing instead of enjoying great conditions in the Alps so the crew has added two additional members. The first is Thomas Kigle who has the honor of being the first snowboarder on the set (ie: in the mountains) of an El Flamingo video. He even brought some roses to show his gratitude for this memorable moment. The second rider is none other than Max Kroneck, an old friend who shreds like crazy! Jochen Mesle joins them because he never misses a powder day near home. Good friends, insane snow, video cameras rolling, what else could you ask for?
For episode 3 it´s time to leave the busy slopes and lift-lines behind to search for untouched skiing terrain in more isolated parts of the mountains so "The Fools" strap on their skins and go touring in the backcountry of Silvretta Montafon. Jochen Mesle and Max Kroneck meet local freerider Simon Wohlgenannt, who shows them his favorite zones and guides the crew into stunning bowls with lots of riding options. Laid-back shredding and sunburns are guaranteed!
After Jochen's win at the Freeride World Tour Qualifier in Montafon there was no time to relax, because a fresh dump of snow meant there was scope for some serious backcountry airtime. Flo Preuss, Sven Rauber, Max Kroneck and Tobi Müller join the crew to deliver the goods. After an intense session our park boys do what they do best: hit rails and jumps in the snowpark.
However, Jochen and Max found the park to be too short, so they built up a top-to-bottom run that combines all of their riding skills. The run starts with some backcountry action in steep alpine terrain then leads straight into the top of the snowpark for more airtime afterwards. To top it all off, the boys get themselves a private sunset session on a perfectly groomed kicker with a personal shuttle from the park maintenance crew. What could be better?
The fools came together one last time to celebrate the end of the ski season. This episode is all about the last days on the mountain and enjoying the finest spring skiing this season has to offer. It even gets so hot that the big slush run they created melts right before their eyes. But all the sliding and dripping snow does not stop these skiers from having a good time. Thanks for following the fools over the last months. Without you, "You & The Fools" would be only "The Fools". Have a great summer!
2014: CHASING POWDER
Two weeks in a mobile home, searching for fresh snow and good times
In March 2014 the snow conditions in most parts of the alps were far from perfect. So we decided to go on a roadtrip and search for some fresh powder. Chasing Powder tells the story of living in a motorhome for two weeks, camping next to the road, exploring the backcountry, building jumps, hucking cliffs and enjoying freedom! The search brought us south. We spent most of the time cruising around the Italian Dolomites.
